A vast array of companies, organisations, colleges, universities, training providers, public services and Armed Forces will be providing a highly interactive experience at the 2009 South Hampshire Skills Festival. This prestigious festival will be held at the Rose Bowl in West End, Southampton (home of Hampshire Cricket Club) on Wednesday 11 February 2009.

As in previous festivals, young people considering careers in Construction and the Built Environment, Marine Industry, Manufacturing and Electronic & Mechanical Engineering, and Media will continue to enjoy excellent demonstrations and challenges to test their capability and satisfy their curiosity.
Building on the successes of past festivals, we will now include many new industrial and commercial sectors for students and young adults to discover. For the first time we will involve skills and disciplines from Business & Finance, Health, Hair & Beauty.
If careers in Banking, Accountancy, Administration, Auditing and Actuary interest you then visit the Busienss & Finance Suite, where some of the most well known financial and service organisations will demonstrate some of the dynamic and exciting skills used in commerce.
However, if Health and Care are more suited to you, then Southampton University Hospital Trust will be in the Health Zone with other leading organisations providing guidance on the many aspects of their industry. Alternatively the festival will also cater for those considering creative careers in Hair Styling or Beauty.

The choices for future professions are immense, so whatever your thoughts are on training, qualifications and careers, then this event will help you develop a better understanding and awareness of the world of work. Make a positive contribution towards your future and visit the Skills Festival on Wednesday 11 February 2009.
The DCSF's Diploma Roadshow will be on display at the Skills Festival to raise awareness about the new Diplomas, which students will be studying from September 2009. This will be an interactive experience, enabling students to explore and discover Diplomas in a structured but informal environment, where they will be given an overview and an idea of where it might lead them, together with a sense of what the day to day study of a Diploma might actually be like.
