Work Experience for Pre and Post 16 Students
Work experience for both pre and post 16 students is often a critical element of their preparation for employment. Work experience is used to provide the underpinning knowledge that supports vocational study that leads to qualifications; it helps young people to mature and understand what is meant by employability skills and it informs young people about future career opportunities and employers requirements of future recruits.

Solent Skill Quest responds flexibly to schools and colleges' different uses of work experience. Along with our Education Business Partnership colleagues in other parts of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, we now operate a programme of work experience called WEX Online. This is available to all schools in Hampshire.

Our vision for work experience is to be a one-stop shop for pre and post 16 work experience opportunities, linking to 14-19 academic and vocational pathways, providing rich and flexible programmes that match young peoples needs particularly where a varied curriculum has been introduced, and managing an on-line booking system that streamlines administrative and health and safety functions.
